The Smart Home Hub serves as a central point for controlling and connecting a variety of smart home devices, from lights and locks to cameras and thermostats. Its design needed to strike a balance between functionality and elegance, ensuring it could seamlessly integrate into both hidden hardware setups and prominent display environments.
Tasked with creating a visually appealing yet practical device, I began by sketching several profile concepts. These initial designs explored ways to balance compactness with an aesthetically pleasing form that would complement modern smart home environments. After rounds of refinement and collaboration with stakeholders, a final profile was selected.

From Concept to Clarity
Starting with a series of sketches, I explored multiple profiles that adhered to technical requirements while achieving aesthetic balance. Collaboration with stakeholders during this phase was crucial in narrowing down designs that felt both practical and visually appealing.

With the final concept chosen, detailed technical drawings captured every angle of the device. These visuals ensured that the design would maintain its elegance and functionality from all perspectives, providing a comprehensive blueprint for the next stages of production.
Breathing Life into the Vision
3D modeling brought the selected design to life, enabling stakeholders to visualize its presence in real-world environments. A 3D test print followed to confirm proportions and ergonomics, culminating in a physical prototype ready for manufacturing and display.

The finalized Smart Home Hub design seamlessly blended utility with sophistication, meeting both technical and aesthetic goals. Its sleek profile fits easily into tight spaces while being attractive enough for open display. The 3D prototype validated the design’s functionality and appeal, receiving positive feedback from stakeholders and prospective users alike. This cohesive process demonstrated the value of blending creativity with precision, ensuring the hub would enhance any smart home ecosystem.
