/01 Context

Logo Design
Brand Book
The NCFDC, an NGO dedicated to fostering innovation-driven and growth-oriented enterprises, sought to refresh its brand identity to align with its mission of future prosperity, inclusivity, and sustainable economic advancement across communities in Canada. With the Government of Canada as a primary client, the new Nventure brand needed to communicate reliability, professionalism, and adaptability, resonating with a broad audience while remaining politically neutral.
I initiated the project with a strategic meeting to align on how Nventure envisioned the brand’s portrayal. Following this, I created a moodboard and conducted an analysis of current logo trends and lasting logos across industries to understand their appeal and longevity. This informed the direction for the first round of logo designs. The project evolved through high-collaboration, beginning with sketches and progressing to vector logos, until reaching a refined, final design.
/02 The Experience
Laying the Foundation
Starting from the initial briefing session, it was clear that Nventure’s identity would be one of purpose and professionalism. The moodboard, infused with trends and lasting logo inspirations, was shared to establish a visual language and get client feedback. This collaborative process ensured alignment and provided the basis for early sketches and conceptual designs.
Crafting Nventure’s Unique Visual Voice
With each logo iteration, I worked closely with Nventure to blend their values with a timeless visual identity. Through rounds of refinement, each design was sketched and converted into vector format, honing the elements until we finalized a symbol that was both modern and versatile. The logo was paired with ITC Avant Garde Gothic Pro for headlines and Source Sans Pro for body text, a combination designed to be classic yet versatile, ensuring clarity and professionalism across all communications.
From Vision to Real-World Application
Upon finalizing the logo, the next step was the comprehensive brand book, detailing everything from the color palette—centered on a patriotic True Red, complemented by near-black and white tones—to the selected typography. The brand book also emphasized high-resolution, professional imagery with subtle lighting effects to create a polished look, and showcased the Nventure brand across real-world applications like branded swag and digital platforms.
/03 Outcomes
The resulting brand identity for Nventure not only captured the essence of its mission but also provided a cohesive, professional visual framework for all future communications. The brand book became a key resource, ensuring consistency and alignment across the organization’s materials and positioning Nventure as a trustworthy and forward-thinking leader in Canadian innovation. The client expressed appreciation for the clear, adaptable, and impactful brand, which now stands as a strong, enduring representation of their vision for inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
