BiasProof is an innovative tool designed to help companies measure and address unconscious bias in the workplace. It offers a range of assessments covering various biases such as race, gender, disability, and mental health, with results instantly viewable. By providing a streamlined dashboard and engaging training modules, BiasProof allows companies to track metrics, set improvement goals, and demonstrate their commitment to inclusivity.
The BiasProof project required a strategic approach from the outset. I began by developing a site flow that connected the front-facing website with the dashboard, ensuring a seamless user experience. Subscription-based access was incorporated to create a logical entry point, guiding users from the website to the dashboard. This flow was established before designing the dashboard to ensure intuitive navigation and access. With the framework in place, I focused on creating a visual style that prioritized readability, accessibility, and a comforting interface. Collaborating with front-end developers, we crafted a design system with a rich, varied color palette that enhanced data comprehension.
/02 The Experience
Mapping the Journey from Awareness to Action
The project began with establishing a clear flow linking the front-facing site and the dashboard. This foundational work involved identifying the necessary pathways and actions users would take, including subscription prompts that controlled dashboard access. By strategically mapping out this journey, I helped ensure that users moved smoothly from introductory content on the main site to the tools and services they required.
Designing an Insightful, Approachable Dashboard
Once the flow was defined, the next phase focused on crafting a clean, welcoming dashboard design. Working closely with the front-end team, I developed an intuitive layout that enabled users to access sensitive information on biases with ease. The color palette was curated with the brand’s primary colors and enhanced with tonal variations, providing visual interest without overwhelming the user. This approach allowed complex data to be presented clearly, emphasizing accessibility and reducing cognitive load. Navigation was carefully designed, with elements placed to simplify data interpretation, goal tracking, and training module access.
Bringing the Brand Online with Seamless Integration
In the final stage, I designed the front-facing website on the Wix platform, linking it to the dashboard for a cohesive experience. The design incorporated branding elements from the dashboard for consistency, creating a unified visual identity that resonated across the entire platform. Integrating the subscription flow into a Wix based website allowed seamless access to the dashboard, reinforcing BiasProof’s accessible, user-centered mission from first click to in-depth insights.
/03 Outcomes
The BiasProof dashboard and front-facing site successfully established an accessible, visually cohesive platform that aligned with the company’s mission. By creating a clear flow from the website to the dashboard, the design supported users in navigating complex data and taking actionable steps toward bias awareness. The final design allowed companies to carry the BiasProof badge, symbolizing their commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace. The adoption of BiasProof across various organizations demonstrated the design’s effectiveness, helping integrate it into Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives as a trusted tool for governance, risk management, and compliance.
